Technique that serves the music
Posture, finger technique and coordination help both hands work together. Scales, chords and arpeggios reveal patterns you can recognise in repertoire, while sight reading and ear training connect what you see with what you hear. Working on these skills alongside pieces gives technical practice a musical purpose.
Make practice focused and musical
Work on a short passage slowly enough to notice rhythm, fingering and the balance between melody and accompaniment. Practise each hand separately when useful, then bring them together at a comfortable pace. Use your teacher’s feedback to choose a clear task for each practice session.
