Examination boards and syllabuses differ in their repertoire, technical requirements and assessment. Discuss the actual qualification rather than choosing by name alone. Ask which options are currently supported for your instrument, which level is appropriate and how preparation relates to your wider musical interests.
Understand the work behind a grade
The Passion & Performance program describes practical playing, aural skills, technical work, sight reading and theory. Depending on the chosen syllabus, a student may need to prepare several kinds of musical task. Regular practice and feedback can help connect those requirements with meaningful musicianship.
Confirm arrangements before applying
Ask the school about the current syllabus, teacher availability, entry requirements, exam registration and applicable costs. A preparation course is not the same as an exam booking. This website does not register anyone for a qualification or guarantee an exam result.
